In his first Super Bowl appearance, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles showed up in a major way putting together a stellar performance.

According to Josh Dubow of The Associated Press, Foles' outing in Super Bowl 52 that earned MVP honors for the game pushed him to hold the highest NFL all-time quarterback rating during postseason play.

The 29-year-old was no shape or form overwhelmed playing in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, arguably, the greatest quarterback in league history. Foles more than held his own against the Patriots completing 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns. He also held a 106.1 passer rating and recorded a receiving touchdown in the process of becoming the first player in NFL history to throw and catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

It capped off what was an impressive playoff run by Foles that saw him play like a bonafide star quarterback throwing for 971 yards on 72.6 percent completion rate with six touchdown passes and an interception while holding a 115.7 passer rating. This saw him record more than 240 passing yards and hold a passer rating above 100 in each contest.

More importantly, he was at his best when it mattered most for the Eagles as he led the way with more than 350 passing yards and three touchdowns in both the NFC Championship game and Super Bowl facing two formidable opponents in the Minnesota Vikings and Patriots. In many ways, his performance against New England was the reason for the Eagles capturing their first Super Bowl win.

This has also put Foles in a great position to benefit greatly financially. Despite having another year left on his contract, Foles may see money tossed his way in Philadelphia or possibly another team with a chance to be the starter. He has stated that he isn't concerned about his future with the Eagles.

At the very least, Nick Foles' Super Bowl performance was a career-defining moment on the biggest stage.
