The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping Carson Wentz can remain healthy in 2019. Despite his injuries, an anonymous offensive coordinator had some high-praise for Wentz.

In an article by Mike Sando of The Athletic, an offensive coordinator explained what makes Wentz special. The article has 55 coaches and executives ranking their quarterbacks with Wentz being rated pretty high.

“He’s a 1,” an offensive coordinator said. “We played them; he made four to five throws I really did not think he could make. He has great confidence, great stature. Big arm. Competitive. He gets hit more than he should, but he played young and should grow out of that.”

In Wentz' first three seasons, he has shown that he has the potential to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. Although, injuries have cut his last two seasons short.

Over the last two seasons, the Eagles have made the playoffs but Wentz has yet to play in a playoff game. Even in 2017, when Philadelphia won the Super Bowl, Wentz was on the sideline with an injury.

Therefore, there is concern surrounding his injury woes but his talent is inarguable. In 2017 and 2018, Wentz combined to throw for 6,370 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 24 starts.

This offseason, the Eagles were confident enough to hand Wentz a long-term extension. His new deal is worth $128 million over four years and includes nearly $108 million in guarantees.

The talent is absolutely there for Wentz and if he can stay healthy in his fourth season, he could become elite.

Regardless, there are offensive coordinators who realize just how special Wentz is already.
