The Philadelphia Eagles hosted Notre Dame defensive lineman Jerry Tillery for a pre-draft visit on Thursday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Tillery had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum a month ago, but now he is ready to go.

Amazingly, the 22-year-old played eight of his 12 games with the injury this past season and still managed to finish with 28 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and a couple of forced fumbles.

Tillery arrived at Notre Dame in 2015, appearing in six contests during his freshman year and totaling 12 tackles and a sack. The following year, he had a larger role, tallying 37 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss in 11 games.

The Shreveport, La. native then had a breakout year during his junior campaign, racking up 56 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Tillery is considered to be one of the top interior defensive lineman in this year's NFL Draft class.

The Eagles could definitely use some help on the defensive side of the ball, as they ranked just 23rd in total defense this past season.

Philadelphia won nine games and snuck into the playoffs during the final week of the 2018 campaign and then went on to upset the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round of the postseason.

The Eagles then proceeded to fall to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round the following week.

Philadelphia will now enter 2019 with no quarterback controversy in sight, as Nick Foles is now under center for the Jacksonville Jaguars, leaving Carson Wentz as the Eagles' clear-cut No. 1 signal-caller.
