The Philadelphia Eagles got some good news from the COVID-19 front. Tight end Zach Ertz was taken off the COVID-19 reserve list and is set to take the field in their Week 3 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport broke the good news on the Eagles star:

Zach Ertz' return definitely wasn't a foregone conclusion for the Eagles. Head coach Nick Sirianni was vocal on the team preparing “double-plans” in anticipation of their star's absence.

“You have to have double-plans out there. And so, without getting too much into that, it's just everything has to be double-planned,” Sirianni said.

“You have to back it up of what you want to have in,” continued the Eagles coach. Do you want to be in 12-personnel, do you want to be in 11-personnel? And so you just have to back up everything. … This is just something that we've had to do and the nature of the business in the NFL.”

Sirianni can now openly scrap his Ertz-less plan in favor of the one that features him. Zach Ertz hasn't had a huge first two games thus far offensively, putting up a modest 40 yards total. But third time's the charm for the Eagles star in Week 3. So far, his luck seems to be turning for the better.
