Many fans thought the Philadelphia Eagles were going to get crushed by the Minnesota Vikings last season in the NFC Championship Game. As NFL fans the world over are aware, the exact opposite is what ended up happening. But it looks like the Vikings may get a shot at a rematch sooner rather than later.

According to a local Philadelphia radio host, the Eagles are going to open the 2018 NFL season on Thursday Night Football against the Vikings.

The game will garner a lot of attention not just because it is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game. Fans will be eager to see how the new-look Vikings offense performs.

Case Keenum did a tremendous job for the Vikings throughout the regular season and against the New Orleans Saints in the division round. However, his game against the Eagles was not so great. Whether that prompted the team to acquire Kirk Cousins, we’ll never know for sure.

The Vikings didn’t just let Keenum walk. They let Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater walk as well. In their place is now Kirk Cousins. While he has had success in the regular season and generated some impressive stats over the last few years, he hasn’t won in the playoffs.

But they aren’t going to need him to win a playoff game—at least not yet. They’d first just like him to win one game—a revenge game – against the Eagles while the whole nation watches.
