The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2019 NFL season as one of the top teams in the NFC. Most fans and media members expected them to make a playoff run once again. Unfortunately, that has not been the case on the field where the games are actually being played.

Entering Week 13, the Eagles were hoping to take care of business against the Miami Dolphins and take advantage of the big loss on Thanksgiving Day from the Dallas Cowboys. That wasn't the case either. Philadelphia ended up losing to the Dolphins by a final score of 37-31 and dropped to 5-7 on the season.

According to a quote shared by Seth Walder of ESPN Analytics, the Eagles only have a 28 percent chance to make the playoffs after their loss to the Dolphins.

Philadelphia has been extremely disappointing this season, to say the least. After winning the Super Bowl just a couple short seasons ago, the franchise appears to be going in the wrong direction. There should be major concern about the state of the franchise with Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz.

Obviously, that doesn't mean the Eagles should go into the offseason looking to blow their roster or coaching staff up. However, something needs to change and this football team needs to get back on track.

Expect to see the Eagles miss the playoffs this season barring an unforeseen miracle. Losing to the Dolphins puts a cap on what has been a brutal showing for Wentz and company. Fans can only hope that next season will bring change.
