It is no secret that the Philadelphia Eagles are in the market for a running back. They may have narrowed down their focus to Alabama running back Josh Jacobs.

Philadelphia currently owns the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Geoff Mosher said during an appearance on the Go Birds! Podcast that the Eagles could potentially use that pick to select Jacobs:

“I've been hearing that…don't be shocked if the Eagles take a running back in the first round. They really liek Josh Jacobs.”

The prospect of the Eagles taking a running back in the first round is certainly not too far-fetched. They are in desperate need of some quality depth in their backfield for the 2019 NFL season. Currently, their only running backs on the roster are Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood. Both of those players struggled to stay healthy last season.

Philadelphia has inquired about filling their huge void this offseason. They have been linked to almost every notable running back on the market. Unfortunately, each of their price tags proved to be too steep for Philadelphia. As a result, they could look to address the issue in the draft.

Jacobs is pegged as one of the most talented running backs in his class and for good reason. He played an integral role for Alabama both on offense and special teams last season. Philadelphia has been known to feature a committee in their backfield. Regardless, his versatile skill set could make him an immediate impact player for whichever role the Eagles envision him playing moving forward.
