With the NFL offseason in full swing, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to make the necessary moves that will allow them to defend their title in the 2018 NFL season. Unfortunately, this has raised questions about the future of defensive end Vinny Curry.

Curry had a stipulation that would have guaranteed $5 million of his $9 million salary over the weekend. As a result, the Eagles have decided to part ways, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo:

Eagles are releasing DL Vinny Curry, source says. Unable to find an agreement on a pay cut.

The move certainly comes as no surprise considering the Eagles have been trying to trade Curry for some time now after he refused to take a pay cut. However, the writing may have been on the wall once they acquired defensive end Michael Bennett from the Seattle Seahawks.
Curry played a solid role in helping the Eagles win Super Bowl LII. That said, he felt deserving of his lucrative salary in 2018. However, the Eagles felt otherwise after he registered 42 tackles and just 3.0 sacks last season. Regardless it seems the veteran is still optimistic about his prospects on the open market, and for good reason.
Free agency is currently void of pass-rushers. It should also be noted that Curry largely played through a knee injury last season in Philadelphia's Super Bowl run. This means he could garner plenty of interest from teams looking to shore up their depth on the edge. That said, it will be interesting to see what kind of deal he can draw on the market this offseason.
