Carlos Hyde signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Friday, but before he inked his new deal, there was another team interested in landing him: the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Eagles expressed interest in Hyde, but their offer did not entice him.

Philadelphia has been searching for a veteran running back for some insurance behind Miles Sanders. With Hyde now gone, the club's options are getting thinner and thinner. But a couple of other names that Philly has been linked to are Devonta Freeman and LeSean McCoy, the latter of whom spent the first six seasons of his career with the Eagles from 2009 through 2014.

Hyde spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Houston Texans after being acquired via trade with the Kansas City Chiefs just before the regular season began. He played in every game and had one of the most productive seasons of his career, rushing for 1,070 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 4.4 yards per carry.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round (57th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He broke out in his third season, registering 988 yards and six scores on the ground while logging 4.6 yards per attempt. Then, the following year, Hyde finished with 938 yards and eight touchdowns as a rusher, tallying 3.9 yards per tote. In addition, he hauled in 59 receptions for 350 yards.

The Naples, Fl. native spent his first four seasons with the 49ers before splitting 2018 between the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars. He signed with the Chiefs last offseason before being dealt to the Texans.
