Luis Perez isn't the answer to the main question in Philadelphia, but he could be an important answer nonetheless.

With the Alliance of American Football likely closed down for good, some of its premier players are focusing on finding jobs elsewhere. With that in mind, one quarterback is currently trying to get a job with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After Nick Foles left in free agency, the Eagles are on the hunt for another backup quarterback. The team is expected to work out quarterback Luis Perez next week (via Pro Football Talk), with the hope it can find someone to compete with Nate Sudfield for the backup quarterback position.

Perez played in the AAF for the Birmingham Iron. He threw for 1,460 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions. Perez is only 24 years old, so he still has a lot of time left to make it in the football world, but will have to impress the Eagles if he hopes to sign with them. Perez spent his college career playing for Texas A&M Commerce. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent last year, spending time on their practice squad to start the season before being cut.

Although Carson Wentz appears to be fully healthy after rehabbing his injured ACL last year, the Eagles will still likely hope that whatever options they have behind him are good enough. Despite Foles not being an elite quarterback, he was likely the best backup QB in the league. Given Wentz's history of injuries, the Eagles will certainly hope their backups can live up to his caliber of play.
