The Philadelphia Eagles have been without star running back Miles Sanders since Week 7, but it looks as if the Penn State product will be making his return on Sunday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Sanders is set to be activated from IR ahead of Sunday's contest with the New Orleans Saints.

Sanders has been sidelined the past three games due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders. While he'll be suiting up on Sunday, the Eagles' rushing attack has been robust even in his absence. Jordan Howard, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott have all helped fill in during Sanders' absence.

On the year, the Eagles are averaging 144.5 rushing yards per game, good for third in the league. Remarkably, that figure has risen to a league-high 209.3 rushing yards per game while Sanders has been on the mend. Considering their success in that department of late, there's a good chance Sanders won't be handed a huge workload by OC Shane Steichen in his first game back from IR.

Sanders, 24, is in his third season with the Eagles, having been drafted in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. This year he's tallied 300 rushing yards on 63 attempts but has yet to score a touchdown this year. Throughout his career, Sanders has nine rushing touchdowns in 35 games, alongside three receiving touchdowns.

The Eagles sit at 4-6 and are in second place in the NFC East Division, 3.5 games behind the Cowboys. Coming off a 30-13 win over the Denver Broncos, the Eagles will be looking to make it two in a row, while simultaneously earning their first win at home this season.
