Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and NFL analyst Ron Jaworski defended the Eagles' decision to select quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Jaworski told TMZ Sports the Eagles will create new play-calling measures to utilize Hurts' athleticism, even suggesting Hurts could play a role similar to that of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in his rookie year:
Ron Jaworskiis going to bat for his Eagles … telling TMZ Sports Philly did NOT screw up the Jalen Hurts pick — saying the QB could be used like Lamar Jackson!! “The guy has too much talent to have him sit on the bench,” Jaws says. “You could create that package for him just like Lamar Jackson had when he first came to Baltimore.”
Given Pederson's ability to work with young quarterbacks, it is possible Hurts could fill in seamlessly should anything happen to Wentz.
