The Phlaeipla Eagles are coming off just their second loss of the season heading into their Week 14 tilt against the Los Angeles Rams.

Philadelphia could be without one of their key offensive contributors on Sunday, as head coach Doug Pederson stated Wednesday that tight end Zach Ertz is still in the concussion protocol, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

“The sense is that he’s doing well,” Pederson said. “He’s doing well. But again, I don’t want to get into too many details about it. But he’s still in the protocol and we just have to monitor him day-by-day.”

Pederson also said Ertz has been able to attend team meeting despite being in the concussion protocol. The hope still remains that he will be medically cleared to play at some point later this week.

Ertz is one of Carson Wentz's main targets in the passing game, hauling in a team-best 57 catches for 663 receiving yards, a career-best seven touchdowns, and six receptions of 20 or more yards. He has posted seven games with at least five catches, highlighted by a season-high 10 catches for 103 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 12.

If Ertz is not cleared, the Eagles will turn to backups Brent Celek and Trey Burton to split the duties at the position.
