Super Bowl LII was one to remember for both the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots. While the matchup was intriguing given all the storylines going into the showdown, no one could have predicted it being perhaps one of the most prolific Super Bowl games in history.
Although the Eagles ultimately managed to pull off the upset, the Patriots were largely the reason why this had been such a historic event due to their success over the past two decades. Here are the records that were broken this Sunday per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:
Most Games – 8, Tom Brady
Most Games, Head Coach – 8, Bill Belichick
Most Passes, Career – 357, Tom Brady
Most Completions, Career – 235, Tom Brady
Most Passing Yards, Career – 2576, Tom Brady
Most Passing Yards, Game – 505, Tom Brady
Most Touchdown Passes, Career – 18, Tom Brady

Most Missed PAT Conversions, Game, Both Teams – 4, New England vs. Philadelphia
Aside from breaking these marks, both teams managed to tie 12 other Super Bowl records as well. New England had been the heavy favorites going into the game while Philadelphia played the underdog role throughout the postseason. Regardless, the Eagles proved to be a formidable opponent following their dominant trip to the Super Bowl.
However, one would have been hard-pressed to have guessed this game would have been such an offensive shootout. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the Eagles essentially beat the Patriots at their own game with a 41-33 victory.
Quarterback Tom Brady put on perhaps the best offensive performance in Super Bowl history after finishing with 505 yards and three touchdowns. However, Nick Foles was able to alleviate Brady's performance with 373 yards through the air and four total touchdowns en route to MVP honors.
