There's no doubting that Carson Wentz‘ rookie year is off to an impressive start. Through three games, he's yet to throw an interception while leading the Eagles to a 3-0 record.

A lot has been made of his preparation. Backup quarterback Chase Daniel spoke earlier this season about how he and Carson have developed study habits taken from his time with Drew Brees in New Orleans.

It's paying off. Wentz is in complete command of the offense, and now his head coach Doug Pederson is chiming in with some incredibly high praise:

His work in the film room was cited during the draft process, but few could've imagined it would translate at the NFL level like this so quickly.

Still, this compliment is certainly over the top and a little unfair to Wentz. He's played three games in the NFL; comparing him to one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time, even with respect merely to his preparation, is too much.

But, given his calm and confident demeanor, there's no indication that the pressure will negatively impact Wentz's development and performance moving forward.
