Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is unsure how he wishes to proceed this offseason.

Numerous reports in recent weeks have suggested Wentz's relationship with the organization and head coach Doug Pederson is beyond repair. Others have hinted Wentz will all but demand a trade, even if he has to restructure his massive contract.

However, Rob Maadi of The Associated Press reported Wednesday the disgruntled Eagles signal-caller remains uncertain about his future, and needs time to process the events of this past season. That said, it appears Wentz is “hopeful” the relationship with the Eagles will not end in a “divorce.”

According to Maadi, Wentz has yet to speak with team personnel regarding his future:

Wentz also hasn’t discussed his future with team officials yet, according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because it’s a private matter. The person said those conversations will take place when the time is right.

Wentz’s relationship with the organization is strained, according to another person close to the situation. It’ll take both sides coming together to make it work.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said Monday the team is not presently considering trading Wentz, whom he labeled “immensely talented.”

There are a few things at play when it comes to Wentz and the Eagles.

For starters, the team has ample cap space this offseason. Roseman can be more aggressive in looking to add in the trenches and on the offensive line to surround Wentz with more talent. Additionally, there is no guarantee Philly feels Jalen Hurts did enough to make the organization feel comfortable he is the franchise quarterback of the future.

Wentz could be in demand if he restructures his deal. But there is a chance both sides hash things out and look to put a rough 2020 behind them.
