Amid rumors that the Philadephia Eagles will trade quarterback Carson Wentz as early as this upcoming week, new head coach Nick Sirianni is confident that Carson Wentz can regain his Pro Bowl form, according to reporting by ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.

Nevertheless, team sources say Sirianni recently had a staff meeting in which many of the offensive coaches expressed that they believed they can help Wentz regain his Pro Bowl form.

Sirianni's belief in Wentz is yet another twist in the saga surrounding the maligned quarterback, who the organization selected with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

While the report did not specify what changes the offensive coaching staff would implement to help Wentz return to a high level of play, it did make clear that the head coach has refrained from publicly committing to the play-caller due to the likelihood that the team would look to move him.

Even if Sirianni and his staff are ultimately unable to work with Wentz, their belief in his ability will likely be a point that the Eagles front office utilizes in their trade negotiations with other teams. By communicating their willingness to retain the quarterback and their belief that they can succeed with him on the roster, Philadelphia will be attempting to dispel the notion that they are desperate to deal the QB away, a fact which could potentially drive down their return.

Should a trade involving Wentz end up coming to fruition, Sirianni and his staff would need to ensure that sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts reaches the same lofty heights Wentz once scaled. Regardless of what play-caller is under center to start the 2021 NFL season, Sirianni will have his work cut out for him.
