Carson Wentz trade rumors have picked up steam in recent days, and the Philadelphia Eagles could be close to consummating a trade for the former No. 2 pick.

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported a Wentz trade is “close” after it was reported Thursday the Eagles had begun to field offers for Wentz.

It looked like the Eagles were mending the relationship with Wentz after firing head coach Doug Pederson.

General manager Howie Roseman said the team did not intend to move Wentz. Philly then hired former Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni as its new head coach, likely hoping someone from the Frank Reich coaching tree would appeal to Wentz.

However, Wentz does not seem to be appeased by the changes to the coaching staff. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Wednesday the 28-year-old currently intends to leave the franchise.

Interestingly, the Colts could be one of the teams in on Wentz. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Friday on SportsRadio 94WIP the Colts have had talks with the Eagles regarding Wentz's availability.

The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints are among the other teams thought to be interested in Wentz, though the Saints' interest is dependent on Drew Brees' upcoming retirement decision.

Any team looking to acquire Wentz will be hoping he can rediscover past form. The Raleigh native completed just over 57 percent of his pass attempts and threw 15 interceptions in just 12 games, finishing the season with a 49.6 total QBR.

Still, it seems there is a general belief in Wentz's arm talent, and a trade might be on the horizon.
