It was ugly, but it was exciting and tense in its own special way. We were all treated to a nail-biter on Thursday night, as the Philadelphia Eagles took on the New York Giants in their Week 7 matchup. Philadelphia star quarterback Carson Wentz came up big for his team late in the game, hitting Boston Scott on an 18-yard game-winning touchdown pass.

Here's a look at Wentz's clutch play, courtesy of the NFL on Twitter:

This was a huge play for the Eagles, who were down five points with less than a minute remaining in the fourth period. They were on the brink of suffering their third straight defeat following consecutive losses against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5 and Week 6, respectively. Thanks to Scott's heroic TD, Philly escaped with a 22-21 win, and have now improved their standing to 2-4-1.

The Eagles had the lead at the half, entering the break with a three-point advantage. The Giants eventually took the lead again, as the back-and-forth nature of this enticing contest carried on for pretty much the entire encounter. The matchup between these two NFC East rivals lived up to the billing, with neither team willing to let up.

The Eagles will look to build on their victory against the Giants, as they face the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.

While the Eagles celebrate, the Giants are back to losing ways as they failed to carry their momentum from their Week 6 victory against Washington — their only win of the season thus far. New York is now 1-6, and is sitting at the bottom of the division.
