MI vs CSK, DY Patil Stadium. El Clásico. Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings is one of the most awaited games in the T20 cricket. Rohit Sharma against MS Dhoni, Keiron Pollard vs DJ Bravo, Suryakumar Yadav vs Ambati Raydu, Jasprit Bumrah vs Ravindra Jadeja… The list of rivalries goes on. CSK is one of the most dominant teams in the IPL history but has the lowest winning percentage against mighty MI! That is why this game is El Clásico of the T20 cricket.
This years' situations are very different for both the teams. MI hasn't won any game, and CSK wants to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. Both the teams need a win in their points tally.
A few changes are overdue for the MI team. This is the first time MI has lost their first six matches in a row! MI needs to rejuvenate its bowling. That is why Mayank Markande might replace Murugan Ashwin. Markande has much better stats against CSK. Dhawal Kulkarni's name has come into the news. MI must pick him over Unadkat or Mills if he is available for the selection. He can fill the void of a powerplay swing bowler for MI, and he has a good matchup against CSK batters. In short, we can see at least one or two changes in the MI squad for tonight's game.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is finally making runs as he did in the last season of IPL. It is a good sign for CSK because only Ashwin has dismissed him in the T20s, and no other MI bower! On the other hand, Uthappa has been dismissed by almost all the MI bowlers. Ambati Raydu has scored either a 40+ score or got out early against MI. He should continue to bat at number 4. Surprisingly, DJ Bravo has quite decent batting records against MI and excellent bowling stats. Chris Jordan is expected to be replaced by Pretorius. No other changes are expected in the CSK squad.
