Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been very impressive so far this preseason. After only playing an average of 12 minutes in his first four games, his playing time saw an uptick when his minutes restriction was raised to 15 against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.

Head coach Brett Brown‘s decision to give him additional court-action must have inspired the 7-foot Cameroonian as he posted his first double-double performance with 11 points and 12 rebounds in less than 14 minutes.

Capping off his solid performance was this putback slam over Wizards center Marcin Gortat.

If Embiid continues to improve his game during the regular season, he can be a game-changer for the Sixers. After being forced to sit out the past two seasons due to a series of foot injuries, he now looks ready to show everyone, especially his team's top brass, that he is worth the wait.
