On December 6, Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe tore the meniscus in his left knee, sidelining him for the rest of the season.

Bledsoe is expected to return for the 2016-17 season and has now reached reached another milestone on his road to recovery.

According to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, Bledsoe has been cleared to participate in 5-on-5 scrimmages.

This is great news for the Suns because not only is Bledsoe their best player, but the team does not have to rush him back into the starting lineup due to the younger players’ abilities to pick up the slack.

Bledsoe has a history of knee trouble but is well on his way to getting past his latest knee surgery. He should be able to play through his prime years with his athleticism intact.

Last season Eric Bledsoe averaged 20.4 points, 4 rebounds and 6.1 assist per game before his season ended abruptly with the injury.
