Houston Rockets sharpshooter Eric Gordon, former Los Angeles Laker, then Rockets guard Lou Williams, and Golden State Warriors swingman Andre Iguodala have been named as the finalists for the Sixth Man of the Year award.

“Splash” Gordon has been one of the best stories of the season, shedding the reputation of an injury-prone talent and blossoming into his vintage L.A. Clippers form, knocking down treys at will, totaling 246 for the season on a 37 percent clip.

The Indiana native gave his team a much-needed source of floor spacing and a devastating scoring punch, tallying 16.2 points per game for the 55-27 Rockets.

Williams, a veteran journeyman, made the most of his time with the Lakers, stepping in as the No. 1 scoring option for the team with the absence of D'Angelo Russell, leading all reserves with a career-high 17.5 points per game.

Iguodala, who won the award two seasons ago, has been his usual spark-plug-self for the Western Conference champs, averaging 7.6 points per game on a career-high 52.8 percent from the field, also shooting over 70 percent from the free-throw line (70.6 percent) for the first time in six seasons, along with a career-low 0.8 turnovers per game.

While Iggy doesn't have the flashiest numbers, his all-around impact off the bench is what makes him a candidate worthy of consideration for the award — as mistake-free, unselfish plays tend to translate into wins for a team.
