In the last several weeks, there has been constant talk about LeBron James possibly entertaining the idea of leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Los Angeles Lakers have remained a persistent landing spot for the four-time league MVP. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN:

With James refusing to commit to Cleveland beyond the coming season, and with the growing verdict that James is intrigued with pursuing a Los Angeles Lakers exit plan, Irving has become proactive in controlling his own career arc.

It is no secret that the Lakers are positioning themselves to make a run at James next summer if he does elect to become an unrestricted free agent with just about enough salary cap space to add two max contracts.

Los Angeles has also put together an intriguing young roster headed by second-year forward Brandon Ingram and rookie point guard Lonzo Ball that could show much promise. The front office has also added former Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who is a client under James' agency Klutch Sports Group, although on a one-year, $18 million deal.

That said, all of this will likely be dependent on how the Cavaliers perform next season along with how the situation unfolds with Kyrie Irving recently demanding a trade. Nonetheless, the Lakers will be there next offseason as a potential landing spot for James' services.
