Trae Young had an incredible season last year averaging over 29 points and nine assists per game in just his sophomore season. However, the Hawks as a team were one of the worst in the league and Atlanta missed a chance to play in the NBA Bubble by about five wins. Young hasn't played since March and it's easy to forget just how good he is, which ESPN seems to have done with their latest player rankings.

On the daily Locked On Hawks Podcast, host Brad Rowland reacts to ESPN's Top 100 Player Rankings list and believes that four of the five Hawks included are too low, especially Trae Young.

Brad Rowland: ESPN's Player Rankings has Trae Young at 29, which is too low. I had a feeling that he'd be lower than I think he should be, but this is even lower than I thought he was going to be. He's behind a guy like CJ McCollum, that seems pretty insane to me. Without taking shots CJ, who's a good player, Trae Young is much better than CJ McCollum. I know defensively there are questions but that's not even really in the same realm to be honest with you. That one is kind of indefensible in my mind.

Also Trae's behind guys like Zion, that's pretty silly to me, especially, since it's it's not a prospect list, in any way, shape, or form. These rankings are about this season only, which is part of the craziness about this list overall, with some of the rankings of young guys who've not proven anything. You could certainly argue that Zion is a better prospect than Trae Young, I'm not even sure that I would do that but this is about this season.

For me anyway, I think Trae's a better player than Jamal Murray and Donovan Mitchell, I always understand those players ranking higher on some level because those guys exceled in the bubble but that was a small sample size. Trae's better in the regular season before that, all that said, Trae Young is too low at 29.
