Slovenia, ranked 12th in FIBA rankings, didn't have enough with taking down one of the tournament favorites in France during group play, but also stormed past European giant Spain 92-72 on Thursday during the EuroBasket semifinals.

Luka Doncic, an 18-year-old prodigy, totaled 11 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists in a 35-minute near-triple-double effort to pace Slovenia onto its first EuroBasket finals, taking down the reigning champions in convincing fashion.

Captain Goran Dragic led the way in scoring with 15 points, tied with former NBA player Anthony Randolph, who returned from a suspension to make six of his nine field goals in the game.

Slovenia shot an unconscious 14-of-25 from deep, proving tougher, faster, and more efficient than a Spanish team that was stifled from all areas of the court, shooting a mere 40 percent from the field and 26 percent from beyond the arc.

Doncic has proven to be a quality player and one that is quickly raising his stock, even becoming the top choice in NBA executives' minds. He struggled from the field, shooting only 3-of-10 from the field, but contributing in other areas — a well-rounded game that proved utmost useful for a team that has jumped to an undefeated 8-0 in competition.

This win now puts Slovenia in the position to end this undefeated run with EuroBasket glory, facing the winner of Russia vs. Serbia on Sunday, Sept. 17 and giving Dragic the chance to make his last game of international competition a memorable one.
