Aiden “King” King posted his experience with his former VALORANT team, Phoenix1. King claims that the organization failed to give him his share of tournament winnings. Unfortunately, King's confirmation of a lack of contract hurts his case.  The organization has yet to make an official statement. Teams stiffing players creates a toxic environment for the industry but only if King's claim proves to be true.

FROM THE ASHES OF THE PHOENIX

King poured his heart out on his personal Twitter account regarding the alleged offense. King, along with the entire roster, left Phoenix1 on January 29th. The players remained together and have teased that another organization could potentially pick them up. King's statement includes his admission that he signed no contracts while playing for Phoenix1 from January 9 to 30. His time with the team meant to be a trial until the entire roster vacated the organization.

“For the payouts the organization requested the money be paid directly to them and then they would distribute the money to the players, however, since leaving my un-contracted trial period I have yet to be paid out by the organization for the $1300 USD that I am owed even though they have received all of the prize earnings.”

Normally, teams find themselves in immediate hot water after holding out from paying players. Unfortunately, King's case becomes tricky because of the lack of a contract. King remains adamant that the lack of any written agreement means that he deserves the money.

Phoenix1 remained silent on social media. Ultimately, no official word has been set out by the organization since the mass exodus of its Valorant squad. King promised to update fans on his official Twitter account should the situation with his former time change.

Normally, players hold the high ground in such clear-cut cases such as this. However, King's side lost its legs due to the lack of any written agreement. Hopefully, the entire matter gets resolved amicably for the budding Valorant pro and the esports organization.
