F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton is making his voice heard after a racial comment resurfaced from former champion, Nelson Piquet.

Hamilton took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to address the situation where in 2021, Piquet reportedly called the Brit a “little n***** and also said, “The little black guy put the car in and left because there was no way to pass two cars on that corner.”, per TMZ Sports.

It’s more than language. These archaic mindsets need to change and have no place in F1. I’ve been surrounded by these attitudes and targeted my whole life. There has been plenty of time to learn. Time has come for action.

For the record, Piquet's daughter is in a relationship with Hamilton's bitter F1 rival, Max Verstappen. With this comment now coming to light, the entire sport is supporting Hamilton at this moment in time, with the sport's governing body even putting out a statement on the matter:

“The FIA strongly condemns any racist or discriminatory language and behavior, which have no place in sport or wider society.”

“We express our solidarity with Lewis Hamilton and fully support his commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in motorsport.”

Hamilton is the only black driver in F1 and led an anti-racism campaign in 2020 after the tragic death of George Floyd, which sparked national outrage across the United States.

It will be interesting to see if Piquet ultimately apologizes for his sickening comments.
