F1 championship contenders Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton receive a clear warning from the sport's managing director, Ross Brawn.

With the newfound rivalry approaching the final race, Brawn perfectly describes the two drivers who were seen as the sport's hottest topic all season.

“This sport has had everything this season – and it gave us even more on Sunday,” Brawn wrote in his column for Formula1.com following the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

“So much intrigue, so much tension, so much fighting between the two main protagonists. It was just sensational.

With Hamilton gunning for a record-breaking eighth F1 world championship, and Verstappen seeking for his first, both drivers must be immensely motivated ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. However, as the pair have crashed before, including the incident in Saudi Arabia, both competitive drivers surely deserve a warning.

“It will be tough,” the sport's Managing Director said. “Neither will give an inch, but we want a sporting competition.

“We don't want to step over the line. We don't want this championship to be decided by Stewards' decisions and to end up in the appeal courts or elsewhere.”

“It must end up on the track in Abu Dhabi with the best driver winning.”

After winning three consecutive races and with the points all-square, can Hamilton complete his herculean comeback efforts? Or will Verstappen hold on and achieve his first taste of F1 glory?
