F1 championship leader Max Verstappen reacts to his brutal crash during qualifying, intensifying his title race against Lewis Hamilton.

The dutchman was reportedly a couple of tenths better than Lewis Hamilton's pole-setting time, making the crash even more brutal as Verstappen sits behind the front row to start the race.

“I don’t really know what happened. I locked up, tried to keep the car on the track and finish the lap but I clipped the rear and had to stop. P3 is a bit disappointing but nevertheless, it shows that the car is quick and let’s see what we can do in the race.”

“I’m upset with myself and it is, of course, disappointing but there are two races to go and anything can happen. We had a good car in qualifying and everything was coming together, which gives me hope going into the race, also knowing that the pace was there today.

“I hope we can follow well tomorrow and if that’s the case, there should be some good opportunities and we should have a good shot,” insisted the F1 championship leader.

If Hamilton maintains his impressive form, it seems that Verstappen will have to settle the F1 title during the last race. Mercedes is also ahead of Red Bull in the constructor's championship with just two races to go by a mere five-point lead.

Maybe, just maybe, Verstappen can pull off a win in Saudi Arabia, but it will take a herculean effort.
