Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas makes a wild prediction on Lewis Hamilton's tight F1 title race with Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

After garnering a victory in Brazil, Hamilton looks to pull closer to Verstappen's 14-point lead in Qatar. However, none of today's drivers have experienced dealing with the Losail International Circuit, as this year's Qatar Grand Prix marks the country's first F1 race.

Despite Verstappen's lead with just three races to go, Mercedes fans share the same optimism as Bottas, which can serve as a wild claim for many.

“If I could predict the future I would say we're going to win the championship,” Bottas told CNN Sport's Amanda Davies from trackside at the Losail International Circuit.

“It's not going to come easy and I'm definitely rooting for Lewis — he's gonna get it.”

This season is full of intense battles between Verstappen and Hamilton, making fans expect one of the best finishes in the sport's history, as the two are still neck and neck in the standings. Bottas went on to shed some more light regarding his victory claim.

“I feel like it's going to be won on the track, there's obviously lots of things going on off the track — it's F1,” Bottas said.

“I feel it's going to go, most likely, to Abu Dhabi and whoever is going to be the winner there is going be the champion.”

Meanwhile, Mercedes is looking good in the constructor's championship, maintaining an 11-point lead over Red Bull. However, as proven before, no lead is safe in sports, especially from Red Bull.
