It's safe to say that Dan Quinn didn't envision the Atlanta Falcons' season to go how it has up to this point. After beginning the season with a 1-5 record, owner Arthur Blank spoke about Quinn's future with the franchise.

“I don't think that's fair,” Blank said. “I don't have any specific timetable. Just looking at each game one at a time. It's the bye week, yes, but it's not a trigger for making any changes. We'll just continue to look at what we see developing and continue to support the coach and support the general manager and continue to ask them to do everything they can to put some wins up on the scoreboard.”

Prior to the season, Quinn and the front office decided it was best to fire both their offensive and defensive coordinators. The team hired Dirk Koetter for the offensive position but Quinn refused to hire a replacement for the defense.

Instead, Quinn chose to pick up the play-calling duties for the defense in 2019. As a result, the defense has gradually gotten worse as the weeks have progressed.

Without a doubt, with the talent on this roster, there was never a thought that the Falcons could be 1-5. Due to the underwhelming start to the season, Quinn's job has been put into question.

Despite the abysmal record, Blank is taking a patient approach with his current head coach. Even though, if the losses continue to pile up, the Falcons may be forced to look for their future replacement earlier than they'd like to.
