The Atlanta Falcons have been making some moves already this offseason. And on Sunday, it appears they made another one.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Falcons agreed to a deal with free-agent wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.

This is more of a low-key signing for the Falcons. Treadwell was a former first-round draft pick back in 2016. However, his first four years in the NFL did not go well.

With the Minnesota Vikings, Treadwell recorded just 65 receptions for 701 yards and two touchdowns in 53 games during those four years. He topped out at 35 receptions for 302 yards and one touchdown in 15 games in the 2018 season.

In 2019, Treadwell recorded just nine receptions for 184 yards and one touchdown in 13 games.

He has not been used as a returner either, so it's not like there is a secret value there.

All that being said, though, Treadwell is an interesting prospect. He's still just 24 (will be 25 by the start of next season).

Treadwell went into the draft with a lot of athletic talent and good size (6'2″, 215 lbs). So there could still be a lot of untapped potential waiting to burst out.

This is also just a depth move. It's not like the Falcons are signing Treadwell with the plan of making him a significant part of the offense. If he works his way to that point, it's just icing on the cake.

This is one of those moves that many people likely won't care much about when they see it reported. There's major upside still here with Treadwell, though. So let's wait and see what happens. He could surprise a lot of people and finally break out.
