The NFL regular season schedules were released last week with teams seeing the number of miles they'll need to travel. The Atlanta Falcons were fortunate enough to get a decent schedule in terms of road games.

If you take a look at Atlanta's 2019 schedule, you'll see that other than the journey to New Orleans in Week 13, the longest road trip after October 13 is to San Francisco in December, in Week 15.

That bodes well. Teams don't like to constantly travel across the country throughout the regular season. Atlanta will also travel to Tampa in Week 17, but that is still a shorter trip than New Orleans.

Another good thing about the Falcons' schedule is that they won't have any three-game road trips. They do have two two-game road trips in 2019, but that isn't bad at all.

The craziest part about the Falcons' schedule is how they won't play their first divisional game until Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints. Furthermore, six out of their last eight games come against their divisional foes, which helps explain the lack of long road trips after Oct. 13.

Those games are going to be very important down the stretch if Atlanta hopes to make a playoff run. The NFC South is likely to be more competitive with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers getting Bruce Arians as their head coach.

The Saints and Carolina Panthers are poised to make a run for the division crown as well. All in all, the Falcons' schedule should have no complaints from fans.

The Falcons kick off their season in Minnesota against the Vikings.
