The Atlanta Falcons continue to shore up their offensive line this offseason, this time signing guard Jamon Brown from the New York Giants.

Zach Klein of WSB Atlanta sent out a tweet regarding Brown's signing on Tuesday:

ESPN's Adam Schefter also reported that former New York Jets guard James Carpenter will also be joining the Atlanta offensive line along with Brown. The former is slated to ink a four-year deal with the Falcons and the latter to a three-year deal. The amount involved for their respective contracts has yet to be announced.

Brown was selected by the Los Angeles Rams (then in St. Louis) in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. In 2018, the 6-foot-4, 340-pound product out of Louisville was claimed off of waivers by the Giants.

Brown earned his spot on New York's starting roster in Week 10 of last season and started every game since often paving running lanes for rookie running back sensation Saquon Barkley. He's played in 50 NFL games thus far, with 38 of them in the starting role.

Atlanta's optimistic that the signing of Brown could help improve the team's running game that struggled to get it going in 2018. Although star running back Devonta Freeman missed most of the season due to an injury, dual-threat backup Tevin Coleman was still healthy and active to pick up the slack.

However, Coleman failed to produce in place of Freeman despite showing signs of his talent as a possible starting back on any other team based on his performances prior to last season. Atlanta finished their 2018 campaign ranked 25th in the league in total rushing yards after ranking ninth overall in 2017.
