For years now, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has much been known for being one of the NFL's most lethal kick return specialists. But in the Falcons' Week 4 home matchup against the Washington Football Team, he is currently proving plenty of doubters wrong.

Patterson shined in the second quarter with two receiving touchdowns, which is already a career-high for him in a game. The veteran receiver simply made the most out of his targets from Matt Ryan, especially as Washington has been keeping a close watch on Calvin Ridley and Kyle Pitts.

Washington did respond over the early stages of the third quarter, as wide receiver DeAndre Carter stunned Atlanta's special teams unit with a 101-yard kick return touchdown.

However, Patterson subsequently answered in what has arguably been the most prolific game of his career thus far. Ryan connected with Patterson on a key 14-yard passing touchdown later in the quarter.

It would certainly be pivotal if this performance from Patterson does not end up being a one-hit-wonder one. Atlanta surely needs other wideouts to join both Ridley and Pitts in leading the offense.

More so, Ryan sure would like to have another reliable target that he can go to in critical situations over the course of games.
