Through the last couple of weeks, the Atlanta Falcons have been without the services of Pro Bowl running back Devonta Freeman due to a nagging knee injury that occurred late in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

During an interview on 92.9 The Game on Wednesday morning, head coach Dan Quinn stated that Freeman is nearing his return:

In Freeman's place, the Falcons have depended heavily on backup Tevin Coleman. Over the last two games, Coleman rushed for 140 yards to go along with six catches for 42 receiving yards and a touchdown. This includes a 100-yard rushing performance against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.

Coleman has proven to be a viable option in the backfield as a versatile weapon. The duo has worked exceptionally well over the last couple of years, making them a big reason for the Falcons' sustained success. Coleman's presence has helped ease the pressure in terms of production at the running back position while continuing to provide another effective weapon on offense.

Meanwhile, the imminent return of Freeman is a definite boost to the offense as he has proven to be one of the most effective players at the running back position. He has been their driving force in the backfield, but injuries have limited him a bit from having a greater impact offensively over the last few seasons. It appears he could be in play over the next couple of weeks to help the Falcons march toward the playoffs.

As it stands, Atlanta is a 5-point favorite at home against Cincinnati, according to BetOnline.ag. To place a bet on the game or any others, click here and use promo code CLUTCH50 for a 50% Welcome Bonus when you signup with BetOnline.ag!
