It appears that the Atlanta Falcons will be shorthanded on Sunday. Running back Devonta Freeman has officially be ruled out of the division rival Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Freeman is dealing with a sore knee and after last Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, it appeared it wasn't serious but now it looks like it might hurt the team. Losing Freeman will be a big loss but the Falcons have Tevin Coleman and coach Dan Quinn is confident in his ability.

“We highly regard (Coleman),” Quinn said The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’ve been down this road before, if it gets to that where (Freeman can’t play), Tevin can certainly handle (the load). We’ve done that the other way where Free’s had to (play) when Tevin (couldn’t play). Obviously, we like them both together.”

Freeman played 56 percent of the snaps in week one while Coleman played 51 percent of them. Freeman rushed only six times for 36 yards adding three catches for 14 yards.

Coleman had nine attempts for 19 yards and one touchdown. Both guys had a hard time getting through the Eagles front seven and no matter who starts in this game they are going to need to be a lot better.

As it stands with Freeman out Sunday, Atlanta are still the 6-point favorites over the Panthers at home according to BetOnline.ag. To place a bet on the game or any others, click here and use promo code CLUTCH50 for a 50% Welcome Bonus when you signup with BetOnline.ag!
