With his six receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Atlanta Falcons' 40-14 win against the Arizona Cardinals, Julio Jones became the fifth player in NFL history to have three seasons with at least 1,500 receiving yards. He joins Jerry Rice, Antonio Brown, Marvin Harrison, and Andre Johnson.

This season, Jones has 100 receptions 1,511 yards and six touchdowns. His other two 1,500-yard seasons came in 2014 and 2015.

He caught 104 passes for 1,593 yards and six touchdowns in 2014 and then 136 for 1,871 and eight touchdowns in 2015. Jones just missed the mark in 2016 and 2017 as well, with 1,409 and 1,444 receiving yards respectively.

Jerry Rice reached the 1,500 yard milestone four times in his career, and in 1994 he missed the mark by one yard.  Antonio Brown also posted a 1,499-yard season in 2013, but he eclipsed the mark in 2014, 2015, and 2017. Marvin Harrison surpassed 1,500 yard in 1999, 2001, and 2002 and Andre Johnson did it in 2008, 2009, and 2012.

Jones has been one of the few bright spots in Atlanta this season, as their win against Arizona raised their record to 5-9 just two years after their infamous Super Bowl appearance. Injuries have plagued the team this season, with seven starters are on injured reserve, including safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen, running back Devonta Freeman, and left guard Andy Levitre.

According to the Upshot on the New York Times website, the Falcons have a less than one percent chance of making the playoffs even if they win out. They'll face two division rivals to close the season against the Carolina Panthers and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with both games being on the road.
