Welp. If you're someone who takes Julio Jones for his word – you should probably draft him in your Fantasy Football league this year. According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of ajc.com, the Atlanta Falcons wide receiver has a target for 2019 – 3,000 yards.

Jones is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. I don't think anyone's going to try and argue against that point. He's had five straight seasons of 1,400-plus yards. 2019 saw him put up his most receptions (113), yards (1,677), and touchdowns (8) since 2015.

He is also in a high-powered offense that loves to throw the ball. An offense run by quarterback Matt Ryan, who has a fantastic rapport with the receiver.

All that being said though, 3,000 yards is ridiculous. The most Jones has ever put up is 1,871 (second all-time). The most anyone has ever put up is 1,964 (done by Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson in 2012).

Of course, Jones was probably exaggerating here a little bit – at the same time not really though. It's not like he's promising 3,000 yards, it's just what he's targeting.

Isn't this exactly what players should be doing? Targeting crazy numbers? If they're targeting unobtainable numbers, that means they're shooting for the moon. It's a lot better than if he would've went out there and said “yeah, I guess I'm going for 900 yards!”

If we're being realistic, 3,000 yards isn't happening. However, Julio Jones is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and he's constantly proving it. Expect more of the same as he put up fantastic numbers in 2019, apparently reaching for that goal of 3,000 yards.
