Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will miss Sunday’s Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Falcons interim head coach Raheem Morris announced on Friday, via Kelsey Conway of the Falcons.

The 31-year-old has missed two of the Falcons' past three contests due to a lingering hamstring injury. The ailment has persisted throughout the 2020 season, limiting the veteran wideout to just nine games in his 10th NFL campaign.

He did not participate in the first two days of practice this week.

Jones has not been ruled out for the rest of the 2020 season, though its fair to wonder if the Falcons—who have been eliminated from playoff contention at 4-9—truly plan on sending their star wideout back on the field for a couple meaningless games.

However, according to Jason Butt of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Morris remains optimistic that Jones could lace up for the final two weeks, and there has been no discussions about shutting him down.

Jones has 51 receptions for 771 yards with three touchdowns in 2020. The seven-time Pro Bowler has not finished below 1,000 yards in a season since 2013. He had missed just four games over the previous six seasons.

Receivers Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage, along with tight end Hayden Hurst, will continue receiving the brunt of the targets from quarterback Matt Ryan in Jones' absence. Ridley currently leads the Falcons with 1,029 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 67 catches. He's caught 13 balls for 232 yards over the past two games.

The Falcons will host the Buccaneers (8-5) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
