Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones remains one of the best in the NFL at his position whenever he plays on the field. However, he hasn’t been able to do that consistently this season as he continues to be bothered by injury.

Jones is set to miss the Falcons’ Week 16 game against the 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs due to a hamstring injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It’s the same injury that’s been bothering the 31-year-old throughout the season and has limited him to just nine games in his 10th season in the league.

Aside from the seven-time Pro Bowler, three other starters will not suit up for Atlanta against Kansas City, including cornerback Darqueze Dennard and offensive linemen Alex Mack and James Carpenter.

Jones hasn’t played for the Falcons since Week 13 and wasn’t on the field in their 31-27 loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. In nine games this season, the veteran wide receiver has 771 receiving yards on 51 receptions with three touchdowns, far from his usual numbers. If he doesn’t play in Atlanta’s Week 17 rematch with the Buccaneers, it will be the first time since 2013 that Jones will not finish a season with at least 1,000 receiving yards.

Falcons interim head coach Raheem Morris initially said that there was a chance that Jones might be able to play in the team’s last two games, and that they were not talking about shutting him down for the season. But with the wideout missing the game against the defending Super Bowl champions, it will be difficult for Atlanta to avoid a fourth straight loss.
