Throughout his NFL career, Atlanta Falcons star wideout Julio Jones has established himself as one of the premier players at his position in the league.

He has been one of the most productive wide receivers when healthy as he has eclipsed 1,400 receiving yards in three consecutive campaigns including 1,871 yards on 136 catches in the 2015 season, which is the second-highest single-season receiving yard total in league history.

During a recent interview with Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com, Jones voiced that he believes breaking 2,000 receiving yards is an attainable record but his goal to do so.

“I don’t think about yardage. It’s all for fun,” Jones said. “It’s definitely for fun. They obviously want to see somebody do [2,000] because, obviously, it’s never been done. And it’s a lot of talk about it. Any guy of my caliber, you know, can potentially put up those numbers. But at the end of the day, we’re one game at a time. Whatever the defense gives us, we’re going to take it.”

The numbers he has consistently put up are no easy task either, but to take that a step further is an even more daunting challenge for any receiver to accomplish let alone Jones. He has shown the ability to potentially test that bar in the past, but being the No.1 receiving option for a team makes him the No.1 game plan for any opposing defense, which at times could make it hard for him to produce at an elite level in each contest.

There is no question that the ability is there, but what also must be factored into the equation is the opposing defense game plan and his health. With the league continuing to stay pass heavy, it's something that may ultimately be achieved by Jones or another star wideout like Odell Beckham Jr. or Antonio Brown.
