According to an official statement released by the NFC South franchise, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will not be participating in this year's Pro Bowl. Despite ultimately electing to sit out of the annual event, Jones received an invitation to his seventh Pro Bowl in nine seasons as a member of the Falcons.

As a result of Jones' eventual absence, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams will make the trip to Orlando this weekend.

“Julio Jones was selected to his seventh Pro Bowl in 2019, but the Atlanta Falcons' ninth-year receiver has opted to pull out and not participate,” reads the team's official statement regarding the matter. “Jones, who made 99 catches for 1,394 yards and six touchdowns last season, has been replaced by Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams.”

In addition to Jones, the Falcons also had tight end Austin Hooper and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett selected for the Pro Bowl this time around. It is also worth noting that while Hooper will be playing in his second consecutive Pro Bowl, Jarrett will be making his Pro Bowl debut. Hooper was added to this year's roster due to the fact that San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle will be playing in Super Bowl LIV.

Despite ultimately sending a total of three players to Orlando in 2019-20, the Falcons did not have the best regular season. Playing alongside the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, there was not a ton of winning happening in Atlanta in 2019-20 — even with the likes of Jones and company producing at a high level.
