The Atlanta Falcons are holding their breath as one of their key members in the secondary exited today's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Just a few seconds before halftime, Keanu Neal suffered what appears to be a serious injury.

ESPN's Adam Schefter followed it up by saying that Neal suffered an Achilles injury.

Neal was understandably emotional as he was carted off the field by the medical staff. When you see a player express his emotions as he did, you expect the worst but hope for the best for the player.

Last year, Neal suffered a torn ACL in Atlanta's first game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's tough to make a guess on what the injury is but if it's a torn ACL again; he'll be done for the second consecutive season.

Prior to today's game, the Falcons defense was playing phenomenal football with Dan Quinn calling the plays. Furthermore, Atlanta actually had the best pass defense in the NFL through the first two weeks.

Neal is a crucial piece to Quinn's defense and losing him would be detrimental to their season. In 2018, injuries played a huge part in why the Falcons secondary was unable to slow offenses down.

Along with Neal, the Falcons lost Ricardo Allen on the backend of their secondary as well. Due to the injuries, Atlanta had one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL as they failed to make the playoffs.

The extent of Neal's injury has yet to be revealed but he has already been ruled out for the remainder of the game. Nonetheless, we wish the best for Neal and hope this injury isn't anything serious.
