The Atlanta Falcons' Matt Ryan may be dealing with a sprained ankle injury, but it's not a serious one.

According to Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, Ryan underwent testing on Monday and the results confirmed it's not a serious injury. However, the former MVP's status is still in question for this Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to Josh Alper of NBC Sports.

“The early word on Sunday was that the right ankle injury that knocked Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan out of his team’s loss to the Rams was not a serious one.

Quinn said that Ryan has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle, but would not say whether it is a high ankle sprain. He said that Ryan will not take part in practice to start the week, but could get on the field before the week is out and no determination has been made about Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.”

While the Falcons' season is likely over after their 1-6 start, the more important question is this — will Ryan start his 155th consecutive game in Week 8?

Ryan hasn't missed a start since the 2009 season, with the streak beginning in Week 15 of the 20089season. That means that Ryan hasn't missed an NFL start since Week 14 of the 2009 season. That game took place on Dec. 13, 2009.

The 34-year-old Ryan's streak is the fifth-longest in NFL history — only behind the likes of Brett Favre, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning and Peyton Manning.

If Ryan start in Week 8, veteran quarterback Matt Schaub would step in.
