The Atlanta Falcons signed Todd Gurley earlier this offseason and he's already turning heads within the organization. Despite the unusual circumstances this offseason, Matt Ryan spoke about how Gurley has handled himself.

In a conversation with Vaughn McClure of ESPN, Ryan shared how impressive Gurley has been in his short time with the Falcons:

“I've gotten to work with Todd and he's awesome … Really, really good guy. A hard worker. He's super-smart. The stuff I was telling him one day, the next day he had it done. I was really impressed with his ability to retain information. You don't have to tell him twice. He's on it.”

Recently, Ryan and Gurley have been working together in southern California to build their rapport. Even though he hasn't been with the team for more than two months, Gurley has impressed the veteran quarterback. Ryan exclaimed that he believes Gurley will be a perfect fit for the Falcons, adding,

“I think he's going to be an awesome fit for us … And I'm glad we have him.”

Early in free agency, the Los Angeles Rams released Gurley in an attempt to clear salary cap space. At the same time, there are still major injury concerns pertaining to Gurley's knee. As a matter of fact, Dirk Koetter — the offensive coordinator in Atlanta — admitted that it remains to be seen if the All-Pro running back is 100 percent healthy.

In the event that Gurley is healthy, the Falcons are going to have a prolific offense in 2020. While the running back's status won't be known until closer to the start of the season, Ryan seems ecstatic to have Gurley in the backfield with him.
