The Atlanta Falcons are two seasons removed from a Super Bowl appearance and while they have not looked quite like the team they were in 2016, they aren't far off.

The Falcons were unfortunately hit by the injury bug very badly in 2018 and it started out very quickly into the season. Safety Keanu Neal, linebacker Deion Jones, and safety Ricardo Allen were all injured during the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The team has the players to get to the Super Bowl once again, and there's no doubt they were incredibly unlucky as they had to overcome significant injuries.

If the Falcons want to solidify their Super Bowl hopes and make the most of their elite offensive capabilities, they need to add some defensive help to match the offense.

Top free agent safety Landon Collins definitely needs a look from the Falcons this offseason and his playmaking ability would fit in very well with Atlanta.

Collins has reached the Pro Bowl three times out of his four-year career and was also named to the first team All-Pro roster in just his second season back in 2016. The Giants chose not to franchise tag him, and now he'll pursue other options in free agency.

Collins deserves a big deal considering he is a top player at his position. The Falcons could be that team to offer Collins a deal that he wants, and the fit couldn't be any better for a player looking to compete.

The Falcons have fantastic talent on their current roster, but a player like Collins could push them over the edge and re-establish themselves as a top team in the NFC once more. The Falcons can capitalize on having their current young, electrifying players on defense by adding another dynamic player.

Collins is a lock for around 100 tackles a season and is incredibly effective all over the field. Collins has been used in pass rush situations and is great in one on one coverage against bigger bodied players such as opposing tight ends.

Atlanta should be the front runners for Collins and not waste time in free agency once the market opens up.

A player like Collins will carry a hefty price tag, and he will not be a free agent very long.

That's why the Falcons should start working on a plan to pursue what will undoubtedly be one of the best free agents on the market.
