The Atlanta Falcons have nothing to play for during the final week of the regular season, so they might as well break out some trick plays just for the heck of it, right?

Like this one that involved quarterback Matt Ryan catching—yes; catching—a touchdown pass from wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, for example:

Normally, that connection is the other way around, but hey; it's a meaningless game between two non-playoff teams in Week 17, so why not let Ryan and Sanu have some fun?

Of course, this will likely bring back memories of last year's Super Bowl, when Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles caught a key touchdown pass in what was dubbed the “Philly Special” and New England Patriots signal-caller Tom Brady dropped a wide-open pass in the same game.

Obviously, the memories will have different meanings in Philadelphia and Boston.

As for Ryan, this represented the first reception of his career.

This season, he has thrown for 4,546 yards, 33 touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 69.3 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 108.5 in what has been the second-best season of his career.

Oddly enough, however, Ryan will not be heading to the Pro Bowl this season. He has made five Pro Bowls in his career, with his last selection coming in 2016 when he threw for 4,944 yards, 38 touchdowns, and seven picks, completing 69.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 117.1 en route to winning an MVP award.

The Falcons came into play on Sunday with a record of 6-9.
