The Denver Broncos upgraded their offense in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. John Elway decided to select Iowa tight end Noah Fant at No. 10 overall and many believe that he will have a big rookie season in 2019.

While T.J. Hockenson was the top Iowa tight end taken in the draft at No. 8 overall by the Detroit Lions, Fant was viewed as the bigger playmaker. He was a much faster receiver and has excellent size and route running ability. That will fit well in the Broncos' offense alongside quarterback Joe Flacco.

Last season with the Hawkeyes, Fant ended up catching 39 passes for 519 yards and seven touchdowns. He didn't put up monstrous numbers, but there are reasons to believe that he will end up being an immediate impact player in Denver.

Throughout the pre-draft process, Fant moved his way up draft boards by putting up impressive physical numbers. He ran a 4.5 40-yard dash and received a comparison to Indianapolis Colts' star tight end Eric Ebron from NFL.com. That comparison should excite the fans, as well as Fantasy Football players.

Speaking of Fantasy Football, quite a few players are going to be wondering what they can expect from the new Broncos' tight end.

Noah Fant, Broncos

Looking at his situation in Denver, Fant should end up being the immediate starter. He'll have to beat out Jake Butt and Jeff Heuerman for the job, but there is no denying that he is the more talented player.

Vic Fangio and company are in need of finding more playmakers on the offensive side of the football. Emmanuel Sanders could be their top target, but he is recovering from a torn Achilles that he suffered last season. Courtland Sutton is expected to take a big step forward as well, but after those two players there are some question marks.

Fant could immediately become a go-to option for Flacco. At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds with the speed and athleticism that he possesses, the Broncos have a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

Denver is coming off of a disappointing season that saw them miss the playoffs. Case Keenum did not get the job done at the quarterback position. Bringing in Flacco shows that the Broncos want to get back to putting the football in the air more, which bodes well for Fant on the field and as a fantasy scorer.

Noah Fant, NFL Draft

Predicting a season for any player is a difficult task, especially for a rookie that has never played an NFL game. That being said, there are some reasonable expectations for Fant in his first season.

Fant should be able to rack up around 50 receptions for 650 yards and six touchdowns. He could become an even bigger weapon, which would mean a spike in his production, but those numbers are certainly attainable for him.

He may not be a true No. 1 tight end for Fantasy Football players, but he is worth a late-round selection at least. Fant would be more than capable of spot starts depending on matchups.

Expect to see him come in and make an immediate impact. If you're looking to draft a tight end in the later mid rounds or late rounds of your fantasy draft, Fant would be a solid target.
